Keynoters of Note: Paul Gillin and Michael Fauscette
By Chris Bucholtz
The roster of speakers at SugarCon continues to grow, as do the number of submitted session suggestions. We’ll have the agenda ready for viewing in the next few weeks, but a couple new keynote speakers have come on board recently and give you two more good reasons to attend this year’s conference.
First on board was Paul Gillin. Paul’s been a thought leader in collaboration and marketing for over two decades, and he’s written four books, including a forthcoming volume on social media and service co-authored with RightNow’s Greg Gianforte. He’s had an illustrious career in tech journalism, and he’s now also co-chairs the social media cluster for the Massachusetts Technology Leadership Council. He’s also a Red Sox season ticket holder, meaning that we may see some interesting conversation between Mr. Gillin and uber-Yankees fan Paul Greenberg. (I will refrain from making any puns about cross-Paul-ination.)
The next addition was IDC’s Michael Fauscette. Mike is the best kind of analyst: well aware of both the possibilities and the pitfalls of technology. He’s been a pragmatic voice as the head of IDC’s Software Business Solutions Group, and he has both a grasp of CRM and how it fits into the broader business software ecosystem. He provides thought leadership for IDC around social applications and the transition to the social business. Mike is a committed observer of the CRM space – I never see him in the geographical area we both live in, but I see him all over the world at various events.
Paul and Mike are characteristic of the caliber of the speakers at SugarCon 2012 – they know what’s possible, and they can give you and your company a realistic idea of how you can use those possibilities to bolster your bottom line.
